Heat Lightning

Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension investigator Virgil Flowers is only in his mid-thirties, but he doesn't think much can surprise him anymore. In John Sandford's Heat Lightning, he'll realize that he's wrong.

On a hot, humid summer night in Minnesota, Flowers gets a call from Lucas Davenport. A body has been found near a veterans' memorial in Stillwater, with two shots to the head and a lemon in his mouth—exactly like the body they found two weeks ago.
