One minute Lisa Woodrow is a big city prosecutor, and the next she's back home, deep in the fumes of North Carolina racing culture and trying to keep a low profile.

She has no choice. A criminal she helped convict is on the prowl for her, and Wade McClellan, ex-fiance and best-NASCAR-crew-chief-in-the-business, insists his security is tight and she'll be safer with him.
