Handyman

The press calls him the Heartbreak Killer because of his apparent compulsion to mutilate the hearts of his victims, but he thinks of himself as the Handyman. At first he targeted prostitutes, but lately he's been going upscale--a teacher, a doctor--striking at random in and around Tampa, Florida.

The police are under growing community-and political pressure, but they can't find the common thread that links the women and their murderer. There's no such thing as the perfect crime ... but the Handyman doesn't seem to have made any mistakes.

The Handyman has chosen a new target, a glamorous TV newt anchorwoman. This time he wants her to know he's coming. His campaign of psychological torture will bring her to just the right pitch of fear, and in the end his cunning and stealth will once again rule, no matter what the woman and the police do to try and stop him.
