PORT SILVA--LAND TO KILL FOR?

Situated on California's beautiful northern coast, Port Silva had escaped the rash of land developers eating up the state's prime real estate. But when a posh San Diego firm finally offers small fortunes to persuade the people on historic Finn Lane to sell out, everyone jumps at the chance. Except thirteen-year-old Petey Birdsong. The house belonged to his grandmother. He's not selling. Charlotte, his mother, stands adamantly beside him.

But how far will Petey go to defend his home? A local anti-development group, R.I.P., is employing vandalism and arson to drive the developers away. Now it looks like kidnapping and perhaps foul play are their new tactics. Police Chief Vince Gutierrez and Charlotte's tenant, policeman Val Kuisma, race to solve the crimes, before beautiful Port Silva is awash in blood.
