About This Book
In 2032, when fossil fuels are critically low, British technologist, Athena Cartwright invents the first self-charging mobile. She lives in Canada with workaholic James Laurent, who is currently on an emergency business trip driven by friendship to an oil rig ship in Angola.
When disaster strikes the rig, devastated Athena waits for news about James’ return home, but when there are no sightings of life pods, everyone believes that no one survived, except Athena. She has James’ location from the mobile he’s field testing for her.
Unable to convince CA Petroleum that the location she has is valid, she must find her inner courage to overcome overwhelming odds and create her own solution to rescue the survivors in time to save their lives.
First in the Age of Unity Quartet, this is the beginning of an epic saga that draws you into Athena’s family.
She has the power to shape the future. It’s PREDESTINED.
A short interview with the Author:
What are the main themes of the story?
The main themes are about the importance of love, family and friendship, environmental awareness and clean energy, speculative near-future technology and Athena’s sheer dogged tenacity to avoid impending catastrophe.
Who is Athena?
Athena is the main character of the book; she is a strong, every-day, highly intelligent heroine who has plenty of resourcefulness. She shares an ageless love with her partner James which forms the basis for this first book â€" the start of an epic saga.
How did you come up with this story?
It’s a future I’d like to see, it’s not perfect, but it’s going in the right direction with all its complications. I loved the story so much, I had to write it, and to do that, I had to learn to write. The past four years have been a delightful, but steep learning curve.
