I want you to spy for me... Six-thousand dollars was high pay! It was the highest pay that ever had been offered to Lefty Bill Ranger. And all he had to do was spy on a man named Peter Crosson and his own son Oliver. Ranger didn't care about his employers motives... as long as his actions did not bring the Crossons harm.

Ranger soon learned that no man met a Crosson without being changed - nobody was welcome on Crosson property; and any man who dared trespass was driven away. The Crossons didn't keep guns on their farm... they kept wolves!
