About This Book

Born in 1838, Ian Shaw loved his homeland of Scotland, but life had other plans for him. He found himself moving with his family to the new world going west to America. Seeking land of their own Ian and his brother go west to Illinois. After acquiring land they sent for their family who joined them. Ian renewed his friendship with John Muir who lived in Wisconsin. Ian sees a young lawyer by the name of Lincoln he likes. When war is on the horizon Ian goes west to Missouri where he meets Mark Twain a young writer heading west to seek riches in Nevada's silver rush. In a desperate attempt to get back home and see his brother and father who are fighting in the Civil War, Ian takes a ship from South Amerca to the east coast and finds himself in the middle of the war. He then is desperately trying to find his brother and puts himself in jeopardy.
