For fans of THE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY, A DOG'S LIFE, and THE ART OF RACING IN THE RAIN, this is the heartwrenching--but ultimately happy--story of four shelter dogs called the "No-Hopers" because their problems have kept them from the one thing they all want most: to be adopted.

For Ralph, Fred, Mitch, and Bessie, four dogs at the Happy Paws Rescue Center, the dream of being adopted by a loving family seems impossible. They've been at the center for so long they're considered the "No-Hopers"-- the dogs that nobody wants. Then Ralph starts a campaign to make sure that his friends all find homes, despite their issues. It's especially important because the Center has just appointed a new director who wants to make the shelter more efficient, which could mean these four are in the greatest danger of being sent elsewhere against their will. But as Ralph's plan for his friends starts to work, he may be the one who is left behind to face the consequences.
