God Blinked, Darkness Awoke

Are we predestined for good or evil, for pleasure or pain, lucidity or madness? The victim of a cruel and fleeting childhood Maura moves to a new town to begin anew and gain control of her own life. Enrolled in college she discovers talents, strengths and her capacity for love. For a moment, everything is as it should be. While working in the art department she uncovers an ominous painting that bears her likeness. The rendering is so precise that she feels a part of her soul has been stolen. Her momentary peace is devastated. In a flash she has a sense that she is a part of something bigger and beyond her control. As she again feels that she may be a pawn of the fates, she fears for her sanity as well as her safety. Something foul has been awakened. Across town someone has been watching and waiting for her, she is the intended and the long sought missing element. Maura’s struggle with darkness and with destiny becomes immediate and inevitable.
