When Antoinette swindled Margaree Harrod out of the old estate on Cape Breton Island, Margaree swore on her mother's grave that she'd win it back.

But blocking her ambition are three deadly obstacles: Antoinette, the mansion's bitter mistress; Marc, Antoinette's treacherous son; and Jean, the strange young man whom she loved so much but who hated the old house with all his heart.
