About This Book

On New Years day 1959, Fidel Castro, a popular rebel who has fought the strong arm of Batista and won, makes a triumphant entrance into Havana. At first the American president is excited; he believes he will be a compassionate successor and make a better life for his people. However, the CIA believes Fidel's brother Raul will be the ultimate head of state. The president doesn't like that scenario and orders the CIA to make contact with their man in Guantanamo and send him on a "mission." Their man is a beer-soaked operative named Chief Kratzenhorst, a.k.a. Chief Crazy Horse. An unsuspecting companion accompanies him and they are sent into the interior under the guise of installing radio equipment. After many failed attempts to get Raul, they are ordered to drop the mission and return to the base. Their daring return is filled with tragedy and heartbreak.
