Gill's Rock

A leisurely morning fishing trip on a crisp October morning turns stormy for Jon Burke and Duke Evenson. When they put in at Gills Rock they are accosted by some confrontational youths. The experience turns out to be an indicator of things to come. The youths, who are involved in the drug trade, are desperate for money and transportation to flee to Missouri. Burke, Donovan Archer, Larry Wysocki, and Duke Evenson find themselves drawn into the middle of a series of violent episodes. Police Detectives Engler and Sommers are a step behind the youths and the conclusion finds Lacy Sanderson, Burke's fiancé, a hapless victim in a standoff where one false move could result in her death.
