Frozen Trail

Lagg Durant is a peaceable rancher with no real enemies. But after killing vicious Guns Quinton in self-defense, he's forced to flee across the snow-covered San Juan Mountains or face Quinton's vengeful family—and more killing. Then when he meets up with a young woman and two children, who have been deserted by a ruthless guide on the dangerous mountains, he must make a tough choice.

For the Quintons are catching up to Lagg. And if he leaves Dee Jarvis and her kid brother and sister to fend for themselves, they are sure to starve or freeze to death. But if he slows his pace to help them reach safety, he may have to pay with his own life.
