About This Book
And thus began the Darkwar; one tiny freighter carrying a small group of Naval Officers on a covert mission. No, not a mission, really. As Jacob had pointed out, more of a quest. And these were not merely Naval Officers. They truly were friends, who had been through thick and thin together, and would each die, one for the other, if needs be.But they all realized this, for they had all been there before, in so many ways. Each one had been in situations where they would have given life and limb for the others. Their commitment to one another had begun years before. They all knew that there was a bond much deeper than merely Naval Officers serving on the same ship together.Their cause was indeed the truly righteous one.Their goal of destroying the misnamed Righteous Cause once and for all was born not out of hatred, but out of a zeal for that which is good and right in all sentient beings, in spite of the concupiscence of each race throughout the known galaxy. And, as that tiny freighter moved toward Earth, there seemed to be a protective light surrounding her. Maybe it was some natural phenomenon associated with hyperspace, but, somehow, it seemed more than that. Perhaps there was a spiritual dimension involved with that glow; perhaps not. No one could say for certain. All anyone on board that spacecraft could say for sure was, there was a peace that accompanied them on their journey. Each person on board not only felt it, but they expressed their feelings to each other, each in his or her own way. Truly, their cause appeared to be blessed.
