Heartland is a horse farm nestled in the hills of Virginia, but it's much more than that. Heartland is a place like no other — a place where the scars of the past can be healed, a place where frightened and abused horses learn to trust again.

Amy has never doubted her dedication to Heartland. She has always planned on continuing her work there, even after high school graduation. But with Lou's wedding fast approaching, change is in the air. A sudden and surprising opportunity leads Amy to consider attending college next year — which would mean leaving Heartland. As she wrestles with this difficult decision, a lost pony mysteriously arrives on the farm. When Amy discovers a way to help the pony, she also finds the key to where her true future may lie after all.
