About This Book

A horse loving wife falls for a retired cow pony. Her thinker, inventor, not-so-horsey husband follows close behind with a wheelbarrow and shovel. This kind of mixed marriage, all too familiar in horsey circles, is seldom told from the neglected spouse's point of view. Finally, horsehusbands find a voice in the person of Alva (named after Thomas A. Edison) in his series of tales: From My Side of the Fence, a horsehusband's point of view.

Alva doesn't know a lot about horses, but when his wife buys Pachooky, a retired cow pony, he tries to fit in like a worn, old saddle blanket between his wife,Tug, and the rub of her newfound enthusiasms. Alva invents - mostly in his head - as he tries to make life easier for his determined wife. He entertains a wide circle of friends and family with his barnyard philosphy as he tries to extrapolate from what he knows, to what he sees in the world of horses.
