Friday Before Bank Holiday

A witty novel of theft, murder, arson, fraud and double-cross. Two events, which cost the insurance companies a lot of money, took place on the Friday before Bank Holiday. Charles Hammersley had a horse-riding accident in Knightsbridge, and the Continental Diamond Exchange in Hatton Garden were relieved of the Yellow Fire Diamonds. These events came together to lead to Operation Safe-Deposit. Charles believed the cause of the trouble was his chance meeting with Tim Tweedy in the White Hart at Esher, for if that meeting had not taken place Simon Good, Chairman of Roag's Syndicate, would not have been suspected of being behind the diamond robbery...
