About This Book

A Quick Synopsis:
Alek Gaspard was an illegitimate Cajun Boy in southern Louisiana whose Mother did not survive his birth. He was raised by foster parents; his foster mother tutored his schooling from age six until age fourteen. His foster father beat him, and other children bullied him constantly. After being abandoned in a bayou, a kind man helped & mentored him. Alek & that man fled the tidewater lowlands to avoid Hurricane Katrina by rushing to the French Quarter. What happened next will amaze you! Please know this: The post Katrina New Orleans depicted herein is by no means how life normally is there. May their traditions always survive!

Witches & Warlocks Defined:
During the Dark Ages, pagans who did not embrace Christianity were falsely labeled as evil, supernatural worshipers of Satan. The Christians called the non-believing females 'Witches' and the protecting males were called 'Warlocks'.
In reality, witches & warlocks are those who practice witchcraft. This sorcery is not necessarily black magic, and these beliefs or powers are not necessarily meant to be evil; or good, for that matter.

Vampires Defined:
Most people will tell you that a vampire is an immortal blood-sucking fiend, a nocturnal ghoul, a devilish ogre, a beast that readily transforms from a bat to a human, or any combination of these. This would be the science fiction or super natural connotation.
Another connotation for a vampire is bad, cruel, or wicked person; an actual person who would also be perverse, utterly reprehensible, depraved, &/or villainous. This novel (Vieux Carré Warlock) will follow this second definition with a twist in a modern day setting (like Robin & Batman saving Metropolis); and is not a sequel to any of the wonderful works by Anne Rice.)
