When rich old Daniel Morton married his nurse, young Mary Howarth, shortly before he died, neither of them was under any illusion as to his reasons. He wanted to make sure his enormous fortune would go safely to his daughter Belinda, and not get into the hands of her grasping husband Charlie Curtis, and he knew he could trust Mary to carry out his wishes. But Daniel's family, who knew nothing of this, were not unnaturally bitterly hostile to Mary - especially his favourite nephew Terry. Nevertheless Terry's suspicion of Mary did not prevent him falling in love with her, and all might have ended happily, if another member of the family had not had very different plans for Mary...
