He meets new friends, learns about Native American culture, explores new areas, and goes on the journey of a lifetime, only to wake up back in Maryland, safe and sound. Francis learns to follow his dreams, and to keep an open mind when visiting new places. He learns all about the Native Americans of this region, and some of their traditions. He meets new friends, and learns how they survive in the dry desert. New vocabulary is described at the end of the book in the glossary, and English and Spanish descriptions are provided.
