Francesca de Palma is a cabaret Singer at the Noite Azure an Italian nightclub in Madrid. The bartender Guido has a strange sexually obsessive power over Francesca causing her to perform sex with him out of her control. She hates him but is possessed. She meets Amado a cinematographer working on an Italian film being shot in Segovia. They immediately fall in love and have a sexually charged romance. Though steamy, it is not the kind of sex that the domineering Guido demands. When Amado invites Francesca to the set of the film, his producer Don Bellini see her and is infatuated with her beauty. They do a screen test of her singing the Cole Porter tune, “In the Still of the Night”…she sings to Amado who shooting the scene. Bellini offers her a contract, and so thrilled with her performance, he uses the Screen Test to open the film they are working on. The adventure continues bring Francesca back to Italy from Spain, then to Serengeti, where perhaps her problems can be resolved
