Four Square Miles the layoff follows the life of Nuccio Nutsy Gento, a generous and successful sports bookmaker from a populated and close-knit New York City. Years back, because of a tremendous hit his operation had taken, Nutsy formed a group of bookies from surrounding towns to layoff his bets. The group has now become envious of his success and gives him an ultimatum. Nutsy sways with this decision.
