Anthony Chambers would inherit half of his Great Uncle Cedric's sprawling Australian homestead on one condition: He must leave England behind and spend a year living at the homestead with his uncle's live-in companion, Annie Ross. Certain the young American had been his uncle's mistress, he set out for Camelot Station eager to meet the scheming tart clever enough to bleed the old man dry, and foolish enough to have a child out of wedlock.
