Velondra is dead to the world after her brother dies and it is her fault. When her mother doesn't want her around anymore, what else can she do other than to go to another world where the hope that her brother is alive still exists? It's the fact that Velondra is believed to be the Chosen One that will defeat the evil Sorceress that has taken over the other world. The Sorceress is kidnapping boys from Velondra's world, ripping out their souls, and using them to fight in her dark army.
