Using a stabilized wormhole, humanity has colonized both sides of the galaxy. It's both our greatest strength and our greatest weakness.

Cue the return of the only other intelligent species humanity has ever met. Just as vicious as before.

Scratch that. They're more vicious. And days after they arrive, the wormhole connecting humanity's far-flung colonies collapses.

Commander Tad Thatcher finds himself on the wrong side of the divide, separated from his pregnant wife by countless light years.

He's just been given command of a light armored cruiser. His first command.

If he ever wants to see his wife again, it won't be enough to perform well.
