Sam Dexter from 'Kill em Again' is back and facing an adversary so evil it will test Sam's usual ability to remain aloof from his work as the top private detective in Seattle.
Sam's friend Aaron Drake is a Seattle Police detective retired from service because of stress related issues. He started a fitness club to fill his spare time, expanded to two, and now has clubs franchised in four other states adjacent to Washington. Drake's ex-wife in Colorado contacts him with the news that his fifteen year old gay son Jason as taken their old pickup truck and headed for Seattle to stay with Drake.
Drake is concerned but looks forward to having his son with him again, so he asks his ex to come to Seattle and they'll meet Jason together when he arrives. Then Jason disappears in Idaho and Drake enlists Sam Dexter to help him find his son.
As they probe into Jason's whereabouts they begin to piece together evidence that Jason might have been kidnapped by a seial killer who targets teenaged boys, decapitates them and leaves their remains where thay will easily be recovered.
Drake and Sam travel across Oregon and into California pursuing leads, not knowing their final confrontation with the killer will be an event that will surpass anyone's worst nightmares.
