When Doug Maitland reported his father missing, guest-relations manager Marianne Spencer began a routine search of Children's World. What turned up was the body of a Naval Intelligence officer and evidence that Doug's father had gone underground somewhere in the family amusement park.

Was Doug's father a patriot running from foreign agents or a traitor hiding from American justice? The answer wasn't easy to find, for the trail to the elder Maitland was a dangerous maze of false leads, impenetrable clues and unknown enemies who'd do whatever vas necessary to hide the truth.

With nothing but sheer nerve and gut instinct to rely on. Marianne and Doug were no match. But could they afford to lose this deadly game of hide and seek?
