It is 1950. Gus's grandfather has died and his father rules as the King of Sweden. The legal practice is expanding rapidly but his personal life had shrunk to a very low level.

Hannah Greenberg has fallen in love with David, a young terrorist in Israel. Maria Stubbs has married Sven Winquist, the equerry to the King of Sweden, against her better judgement, while Gus considers Stella Richards to be damaged goods.

He managed to find two members of his family, Bjorn and Ingrid, but there were two more to find... his brother Harold and young Greta. It seemed to be a lifelong task. Yet Destiny still beckoned him in its most inimical way.

At the age of twenty-five, his life was beginning to follow a new path n the direction of politics... a profession in which he is poorly versed. There is just one year to go before the next General Election in Britain and he is to be involved in politics for the very first time.
