About This Book

Horatio Alger Jr.(1832 – 1899), wrote over 100 poems, short stories, and novels during his lifetime, including four adult novels and one adult novella. He gained notoriety when his friendship with ‘William Taylor Adams', a boys' author, changed Horatio's interest to writing for the juvenile market. Alger devoted his writing to his ‘formula, rags-to-riches' books for boys.
Falling In With Fortune, or The Experiences of a Young Secretary, is the author's final book, completed by Arthur M. Winfield (aka Edward Stratemeyer), with Alger's full approval. It follows the adventures of Robert Frost, first introduced in Horatio Alger's book, Out For Business.
In the capacity of secretary to a wealthy lady, Robert Frost travels to Europe, where he experiences many harrowing adventures while trying to protect his employer from her unscrupulous nephew. Upon their return to Chicago, Robert faces even more peril, yet with the assistance of friends, and through his honesty and integrity, Robert Frost ‘falls in with fortune'.
