Nothing prepared Maggie Taylor for her husband's sudden death. These days, her bed and breakfast is as close to a risk-free existence as possible for the widow and single mom. But when US Marshal Nate Griffith blows in, looking for a place to stay, her carefully built peace is shattered.

Nate isn't in rural Alberta for a holiday. The marshal is searching for a fugitive, and the B&B is the perfect place for him to stay while secretly working the case with the local RCMP. He doesn't count on his hostess being so alluring, however, and before long he's tempted to mix business with pleasure.

Nate sneaks past Maggie's defenses and gives her a glimpse of what it would mean to live again…if she could just unlock her heart. But when Maggie's worst fear comes true, she must decide if she's going to play it safe or risk her heart for a second chance at happiness.
