The second most important goal in Deeseus Tork’s life was to help his fellow Trorgans break their slave dependency on fossil fuel. The first, of course, was to get rich doing it. Regrettably, his new energy source created a catastrophic health problem for his people, so he created an accompanying technology that would diffuse all the contaminants to as many alternate realities as possible. He didn’t really care where the deadly exhaust went, just as long as it no longer remained on Trorgar.

Except, it did. To a greater number of alternate Trorgars than he could ever imagine.

And every one of them found out where the exhaust was coming from.
