Escapes

Outcasts on the run. A solitary scientist hiding from the rest of the galaxy needs help to save two friends of hers: two con artists mired in lethal trouble. She enlists a mutinous soldier eluding the military and a heretical priest fleeing her order, plus ends up with a dethroned empress avoiding her former subjects. With cutthroat mercenaries called Hunters in pursuit along with the ruthless cabal who hired them, their initial rescue attempt explodes into an even more urgent mission when they learn of a far greater danger. If they can't all escape, death and turmoil will erupt in star system after star system.
