Susan Blagge Caldwell, later Mrs. S. B. C. Samuels (1848-1931) was an American author. In 1869 she married Edward Augustus Samuels (1836-1908), a naturalist and writer of non-fiction. Mrs. S. B. C. Samuels was a contributor to Oliver Optic's Magazine. Several of her short stories were published in St. Nicholas and Our Young Folks during the 1870s. She authored many stories that appeared in juvenile magazines. She wrote a six-volume series called Springdale Stories (1870) which include: Adele; or, The Shipwrecked Girl, Eric; or, Under the Sea, Herbert; or, The Golden Rule, Nettie's Trial, Johnstone's Farm; or, The Burning Prairie and Ennisfellen; or, The Smuggler's Cave.
