After informing the General Council of their success in using Kono's (Stinky's) mind blast in destroying the target ship (with the comatosed man from the mountain tribe inside), Zuki thought he should visit his parents, who by now would be worried about his absence, and considered it a kindness to include Kono in the visit as he didn't have anyone else to go to.
Brond, Zuki's mentor, the man who originally brought him into the ‘mind blast' program, gave permission for a two day leave – more than that and the General Council would start to panic, as more of the alien ships were detected amassing on the outskirts of their solar system. When he later returned to the project, the serious business of tackling the alien invasion would begin.
