When Leigh Hayden arrived at Wyndham Island to visit her sister and brother-in-law, it was as though she had been drawn there by some mysterious force. She had come with the intention of staying no more than a few days, but after her brother-in-law's accident, Leigh decided to prolong her visit.

By now she had become part of an unfolding drama involving a lovely old carousel-shaped music box and strange little incidents that more than hinted at some "other worldly" presence to whom Leigh was especially sensitive.
