Excerpts: There I stood, naked, in front of a room of fully-clothed people, average-looking families, everyone staring at me, nowhere to hide. - - -

“Robert, there is a famous quote. If you love someone, set them free. If they come back, they're yours. Let me go.” - - -

There was another scream. Her first inclination was to run, run into the night, hope for the best. She put on her clothes and dashed outside. There was light coming from the barn. Should she look inside? No, she should run. Another scream. The barn door was ajar. Curious, she had to see, had a macabre desire to watch whatever was happening to her friend. She moved closer. - - -
“The door is ajar, Jamie.” “Should we go in?” “We have to.” They slowly pushed the mansion door open wider and crept inside. Alicia led, Jamie followed. As she peeked around a corner, she saw her mom sitting nude on the sofa, Carver standing next to her, blood dripping from his knife's blade. - - -

The mind-control drug seemed to be working. It was time to test it. “Mr. Jones,” he was the Deacon at the neighborhood's ultra-conservative church, “bring your pretty daughter up here and introduce her to the group.” He proudly did so. She was wearing an adorable yellow cocktail-party outfit. “This is Sarah. She just graduated from high school with honors and is the pride and joy of her mother and me. Say hello, honey.” She shyly stepped forward with a meek, “Hi.” “Mr. Jones, tell her to take off her clothes.” “Take off your clothes, Sarah.” - - -

“Ya know, I could make this evidence disappear, Emily.” “So do it, Sheriff.” “Quid pro quo. You know what I want. Gotta paint you a picture?” “You saying what I think you're saying, sir?” “Uh-huh, and you have to talk me into it, seduce me. It's that or risk going to prison.” - - -
