Ellisabetta's father had walked out when she was a small child. She did not remember him. So why should he leave her everything he had, including a Venetian palace? She was a successful journalist, had a rich, handsome man in love with her, and did not need her father's money or the Sicilian who brought such trouble to her life. Richard Fillippetti was not only her father's lawyer, he was her father's stepson and he know too much about Elizabetta for her comfort.
