Eggie Rabbit

Eggie Rabbit is a colorfully illustrated tale of a fragile bunny who overcomes his sickly infancy only to face other challenges when he refuses to stay away from the forbidden Hard Place. Farmer Hard has a carrot patch which Eggie finds irresistible. Farmer Hard also has a dog named Barkley who finds Eggie irresistible. As Eggie pursues a tasty carrot, Barkley pursues Eggie which leaves Eggie minus one ear and part of his tail. After Eggie receives emergency care through the assistance of a little girl named Rachel Bradley, he returns home to his family. Momma and Poppa waste no time in helping Eggie with his newly acquired handicap while Eggie's brother, Robbie, pokes fun at the artificial replacements: a carrot with its green, leafy top; a tulip's leaf painted white; and a cotton ball for a tail.
