Ducky Grows Up

traveling by train for three days cross country for Toni, a chubby little California girl, was bearable because Mom tried her best to make it fun. When they finally got to Florida and Toni made friends with a duck and her ducklins a fun vacation began. But being friends with a duck and her babies turned out to be more work than anything else for Little Toni as she took on the role of duck protector when ducky lost one of her babies. Mother noticed that Toni not only grew up a lot that summer but she became more responsible and a lot happier. She took care of a family of ducks, and even cleaned her room each day without being told to do so.
