A child born. A prophecy given.
Unjustly convicted of the brutal murders of his wife and father, his trial judge sentences Kalen MacKenna to imprisonment in Cold-stasis, instead of the death penalty. Twenty-five years later Kalen awakens to a world changed beyond anything he could have imagined.
While recovering from the ravaging effects of his incarceration, someone makes two attempts on his life, and a third almost secedes shortly after his release.
Following instructions he visits his best friend's mother. She help him escape a trap set for him. As he flees south he winds up in a mid-air battle and survives with the help of a mysterious black ship. He resumes his journey into the southern mountains and discovers an injured woman who may or may not be part of the people searching for him.
With someone wanting him dead, Kalen must figure out quickly who to trust, while staying one step ahead of those trying to kill him. As he seek to uncover the reason for the murders, he peels back the layers of his father's hidden past and discovers, even the secrets you don't know can get you killed. With no knowledge of the prophecy, his is unaware his life has already fulfilled some of the prophetic statements, and he finds a number of enemies out to see he doesn't fulfill anymore.
