Australia finally succumbs to global economic turmoil, and it goes down. Hard. A strong gust of wind blows a suicide-attempt onto Dave Holden’s balcony. That’s where it begins. Australia is sliding towards economic and social collapse, and the race is on to exploit the chaos - and Dave has placed himself squarely in the middle of it all. Jenny Lucas, rising Hollywood star and half of the Holden-Lucas power couple, flees Queensland as both bush fires and looting spread south, pursued by madmen and criminals. A bush militia with political aspirations tries to promote its cause and its profile, despite radical elements within who just want to fight. A crime boss, betrayed by his own people, chases the gang of traitors as they make a play for his broader enterprise.
