Seventeen-year-old Sandro Birch is a gifted skier, but he's more worried about earning enough cash to escape the small mountain town he's grown up in. While his mother waits for her true love, Sandro's father, to come home, Sandro takes care of the bills and faces reality.
When Sandro's father does show up, Sandro's life takes a sudden turn. The opportunity to join the school ski team and maybe earn a scholarship becomes more than a possibility, if Sandro is willing to take it. But first he has to believe that life can be good, that sometimes fate can work in your favor.
