At her small but cozy home on Maryland's Eastern Shore, private investigator Callie Webber awaits her next work assignment from her mysterious employer, Tom.

In the meantime, Callie volunteers at a clothing boutique for impoverished women. One of Callie's favorite clients, Shayna Greer, is out of drug rehab and just starting to turn her life around when the woman's boyfriend turns up dead in the trunk of her car. Desperate and helpless as she is arrested for his murder, Shayna begs Callie to clear her name and get her out of jail by finding the real killer.
