About This Book

As a young man at his family's summer home on Donovan's Island, Max Velius dreamed of wild adventures. Max and his wife Diana and their two children venture to spend the summer on Donovan's Island at his childhood vacation home, unaware that the past is about to come full circle and the adventures Max hoped to live then would come true in the present.
By chance, Max finds a mysterious cylinder device and emails a photo of it to a friend in the Pentagon. His friend tells him to return the cylinder to where it was found, delete the photos, and forget he ever found it. Something sinister is lurking, but against his friend's stern warning Max decides to look deeper into the mystery.

Adding to Max's intriguing summer, he runs into his first true love, Mary. The reunion reveals that the old spark is still there. Max loves his wife, but Mary was his teenage sweetheart, and her eyes are still as blue as the day they said good-bye many years ago. Complicating matters, Mary is fresh off the dissolution of her marriage of many years.

The Donovan House, an abandoned old estate on the cliffs overlooking the ocean, intrigues Max's son Bobby much the way it intrigued Max when he was a boy. Rumors abound about the old place. Some said it was haunted. Others claimed aliens hid there. There were even stories that it was a secret spy hideout.

Lies, deceptions and betrayals will come out eventually as the story unfolds. Max gets more than he bargained for, as his marriage and even his very life are put in jeopardy.
What would you do if you had to make a choice that would change the rest of your life? Make a stand or take the easy way out (or in)?
