Sweetwater Inn owner Bonnie Chapman desperately needed to hire a maid. When the very handsome, very masculine Spencer Guthrie applied, she tossed convention aside and hired him. After all, he was the best qualified -- in more ways than one! But Bonnie couldn't help wondering why he was even interested in the position.

Spencer usually spent his summers concentrating on baseball and blondes -- not necessarily in that order. He never dreamed he'd be mopping floors and cooking meals! But Spencer had a bet to win, and this was the only way to do it. Besides, he'd taken one look at his pretty boss and known his dating days were over. Bonnie Chapman, he decided, was not going to be the maid of honor this time -- she'd be his bride!
