My name is Annabel Trewella, and I came to Falmouth to join the steam yacht Dolphin in October of 1897...

Annabel came aboard the Dolphin as companion to the delicate Malloney, bound for the North African coast in search of warmth and sunshine.

Bound for Gibraltar,where the British Mediterranean Fleet steam proudly into port in the year of Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, and Oran where the harbor glittered at night like a fairyland...

Yet for Annabel the delights of the cruise were soon tinged with mystery and fear.

Who was it who sobbed heartbroken in the night?
