Doctor in Judgment

Mary Ruble returned to Bayard at the beginning of those fateful weeks in June that were to change the lives of so many of the inhabitants of that pleasant little Midwestern town. Now, with college finished, she was unsure of what she wanted, too restless to marry James Nash as everyone had thought she would. Instead she became involved with flamboyant, man-crazy Louise Beam and her disastrous trouble.

Dr. Bob Ruble reacted with anger at gossip about his daughter as well as at the attempt to draw him into the scandal. To Mary's shocked surprise, he showed only his mistrust of her.
