Dixie Gold

Dixie Gold tells the life story of a young apprentice doctor during the time of the Civil War. His family sent him east to find an errant wounded brother in the Union army. On the way, our doctor is taken prisoner by rebels. He is asked by the rebels to serve as a doctor in a rebel army hospital. He finally wins a release and is escorted north in a magnificent hearse driven by a rebel spy. The hearse contains the gold treasury of the confederacy that is only known by the spy. The doctor finds his brother near death in an army hospital. During the time the brother is being cared for, the doctor's fianc.. dies back home. He grieves for her but later finds love. The young doctor is later reunited with his friend, the spy, meets, and falls in love with the spy's beautiful sister.
