Dispossessed

Lucille attends a masquerade ball and meets a real-life Regency rake. A young vampire, she's never met an old one like Jay before. Together, they burn up the night with their desires, but by the morning, danger threatens their fledgling passion. They find Lucille's brother, badly hurt, and the tension keeps mounting until they're sure: someone is trying to kill Lucille and her brother. They may even be after Jay.

The threat sends Jay's protective instincts into overdrive. Even if their affair can never last, because he's too old and jaded and she's too young and fresh, he's determined to protect Lucille from her persecutors: the anti-vampire organization the PLR. Yet, soon, it's not enough to defend her; he has to possess her, but with the danger threatening her life, she's going to have to use the Thorndyke network to escape, change her identity, and never come back.

With the help of an old friend, Jay plans to destroy the PLR to save Lucille. But it may already be too late to save his heart.​
