About This Book

Top Secret Tips Unveiled Within!

Dirty Sally un-folds the misconceptions of racial identity and the importance of choosing one's own racial identity. Many people have written various books about America's definition of a biracial individual as if there is only one conceivable definition. Choosing a biracial identity may seem nebulous to those who do not understand. However, when society socializes you into selecting one racial identity and not both, you risk empowering one race and disempowering another. I chose the title Dirty Sally because that was my nickname when I was a child.

Although I didn't understand what the name meant, I felt degraded every time someone would call me by that name. The name Dirty Sally comes from an old slavery term used to identify the descendant of Sally Hemings and the late President Thomas Jefferson.
